A very well explained video that I wish I had watched at the start of this journey. I suppose we don't learn if we don't make mistakes. My Son & I did make a trip South last week and picked up a red Mk1 MX5 South of London and drove it back North without incident and encountered a Mk1 & a Mk2 both in red but not your red. I had never driven a rear wheel car in my 30+ years of driving but I now appreciate two seated convertible sports cars and wonder if I will go down that route when I change my car in a couple of years.

Some great products listed in this video, a lot of which I use myself and I am the very epitome of hobbyist, to coin a phrase: good from far, but far from good 😁. One thing I would add is that its hard to discuss detailing on a budget without mentioning the words 'Bilt' and 'Hamber'. They make some phenomenal products and the value for money is up there with the best. They're also (very) slowly making their way to the high street which can only be a good thing for the average consumer.

Today I said to my wife, that she has the largest collection of candles in private ownership. Her vengeance wasn't far away and she brought up my car care products 🙄

I thought that I didn't need a car dryer since I have a powerful leaf blower that could certainly do the job. But after using my blower to dry the car after a first wash, I have to say that your criticism of this piece of equipment is spot-on. While using the leaf blower carried at arm's length at your side is not a problem, lifting it to shoulder height to dry the roof or the hood (Oops! I mean bonnet) is entirely another matter. Powerful leaf blowers are heavy and not meant to be held and manipulated at heights. The nozzle and hose of a dedicated car dryer are considerably lighter and more manageable and therefore much more suited to car detailing.

Heather what would be your go to pre wax cleanser ?. Looking to purchase one but unsure of which to go for. By the was brillant video. Keep up the awesome work 👍

Minor point but get a bucket with a ribbed bottom as smooth ones can be slippery to empty. It makes grip easier. I’d also recommend a car blower to dry those pesky areas - grills, around lights, door handles, inside petrol filler flap, insignia etc. particularly if you live in a hard water area where limescale water deposits can form. Great advice, Heather. You are a great ambassador for the car cleaning and detailing world.

Shiny garage is saying citrus oil tfr ph is 11.5 in their website but you said 14 i dont understand it

Thank you Heather. One thing I once used as a substitute to tyre sponges while waiting for new ones to be delivered was an old shoe shine sponge. It was a type that folded into its own case to stop the shoe cleaning product from drying out. Handy if you don't have a lot of money to spend when starting out. Keep up the good work.

Heather never mind telling us about your car shampoos, what hair shampoo do you use? it's looking very soft and shiny lol.

Problem with grit guards is they are a certain size, and design to fit specific buckets. I need a bigger one.

Ive got a k2... It works to an extent but i could definitely find myself going for something closer to 2 gal a minute.

Just bought an IK sprayer - game changer! One thing I can’t do though is buy expensive buckets. Whilst I like yours and those bucket Dollie’s look sick, I’m just too tight to spend the dough. I use two old 15L fence paint tubs which work well although look terrible 😊

Another great video, Heather. I have to tell you that no matter how many of your videos I see, I always seem to pick up new info and tips whether it be better utilization of the products (eg using Yum Citrus for a second time under a contact wash on the super dirty wheels (now why on Earth didn't I think of that?) or (and this I really appreciate because these chemicals are not cheap) practical dilution rations for the chemicals. It has been my pleasure to respond to questions concerning the appearance of my car by simply saying, "Google "Auto Care HQ"".

Great vid, I use a combination of garage therapy and Bilt Hamber for external (plus citrus pre) with KC greenstar well diluted for an APC, internal it's Topstar, Garage therapy or 303 protectant. I like Gyeon QM snow foam espeically in winter, safe to use with wax, just dilute/use weaker strengths.

Yet another great video Heather, so helpful and informative to those that are just starting out or making the change over to proper safe cleaning away from the old bucket and sponge with fairly liquid shampoo and dried off with a dodgy chamois leather...

Your voice is very nice to lie to and your accent is very proper. I know the UK does things a little differently from the US mainly the snow foams. Myself, I’m a rinseless wash guy with the sponge. It just works for me. But a good pre spray is essential like you said. You need to emulsify the grime and safely rinse away. Otherwise you’re taking that dirt and driving it into your paint at 1000+ psi. The snow foams work well and you need that lubrication. I like your buckets, the brushes they look awesome! I personally work for DIY Detail so a little biased 😂. But you use excellent products, and once you protect your vehicle it becomes easier to clean. I can’t wait to see the interior video!

Straight forward advice & a no nonsense approach. Mjjc v2 will give as much foam as you want lol especially with a karcher. 🙂

Great video Heather. I have to say you make detailing a car look effortless. I’ve been doing my car for 8 yrs now. It’s only an A3 saloon, but on average takes around 6 hours to complete. Once I’m finished I am totally shattered… 🤣🤣🤣
